To maintain ISO/IEC 646, ISO/IEC 2022, ISO 2375, ISO/IEC 4873, ISO/IEC 6429, ISO/IEC 6937, ISO 7350, ISO/IEC 8859, ISO/IEC 9036, ISO/IEC 10367 and ISO/IEC 10538.
To liaise with WG 2, when assigning names to graphic characters and control functions
